Could IKEA’s Uppleva HDTV System Be A Hint At Future Apple TV?

Unknown  /  at  23:10  /  No comments

International furniture retailer IKEA released this video on a new HDTV system and it redefines the concept of Home Theater In A Box.
After watching the video I have to say that I’m intrigued as other than the assembly that will surely befuddle most of us, it seems like a great concept. For most of us having the TV, speakers, subwoofer, DVD/Blu-Ray player, iPod interface and furniture included in one package seems like it could be a hot seller. It also makes me wonder if this could be similar to the rumored Apple TV of the future?
And, best of all, everything is operated by one remote control! Taadaa!
And, a 5-Year Guarantee!

Having all the components in an all-in-one configuration is not a new concept. In fact, it’s an old concept that could be ready to again rise in popularity. Remember the Console TV’s of yesteryear?
While firm details are not yet available, Ikea’s Uppleva is expected to arrive in Europe this Summer and additional countries will be added in 2013. No pricing has been announced.
Apple, are you watching?
